Excluding a section of society from reservations is a vote-losing move. However correct it is from a fairness perspective and however good it is from an effectiveness perspective, there is no incentive for a politician to speak about it.
ReplyDeleteAnd as long as the anti-reservationists speak about the economic criteria as a replacement solution and not an augmentative solution to caste-based reservation, the politicians also have a convenient reason not to speak about it.
