  4. Badri, do you realize your Tamil is peppered with English words (even for routine verbs and adverbs) while the responses by your interviewees don't? As a consequence, the responses come across as well-thought out and calibrated while the questions just sound flaky. This is not a criticism, just an observation.

    1. Thanks. I am happy that at least the answers are appearing to you as 'well-thought out and calibrated'. It is good to know that there is at least some value in the interviews I have posted here. I will try my best to improve my presentation skills.

    2. Yes the interviews are valuable. In your interview with Nalankilli he was able to articulate his entire political views in Tamil without an inkling of English. This of course is not surprising to those who have (or have had) personal access to such politically aligned, agenda driven Tamil individuals, but could probably be surprising for some urbanites who are not used to listening to a full-Tamil discourse. This is not being written from a pure-Tamil standpoint (which I disagree with) but from the perspective that the urban Tanglish stupor only helps (or perhaps already done enough) to muddle regional discourse and accelerate the atrophy of regional thought in a multilingual, multiethnic landscape. This was certainly not a comment on your presentation skills :-)
